Log in to UMConnect

UMConnect (formerly Breeze) enables University faculty, staff, and eligible graduate students to create on-demand web presentations and to communicate and collaborate over the web through web conferences and webcasts.  Students can use UMConnect to view on-demand content and to participate in web conferences and webcasts.  Additional information on UMConnect is available in About UMConnect .

UMConnect is valuable for:

  • Remote synchronous delivery of courses or course lectures
    • Instructors off campus
    • Students off campus
  • Virtual meetings

UMConnect allows presenters to

  • Share their desktop with participants, including PowerPoint, websites, documents, and anything that is displayed on the presenter's desktop
  • Send a video and audio feed to particpants
  • Share document downloads
  • Provide a chat session where participants can ask the presenter a question or a private question to other participants
  • Conduct polls
    • Meeting votes
    • Student learning objectives
  • Delegate control to other presenters (such as a guest speaker)
  • Share a whiteboard
  • Record the presentation for future review or playback

UMConnect allows students and guests to

  • View the presentation in real-time
  • View the presentation at a later time
  • Ask questions via chat
  • Participate in polls
  • Download supporting materials

UMConnect requires a browser plug-in and works with Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers. Other browsers have not been verified as compatible. A web cam and microphone are all that are needed to present, and a web browser is all that is needed to view the presentation. You are welcome to contact the CTLT for more information on using UMConnect. We have web cams available for faculty use.
